I'm glad your back. I purchased your CD today, and as usual I am very pleased. I really appreciate all of your writing and musical talents. I like that your lyrics reflect mature issues and life on a deeper level that what we hear in most music today. I've been a fan since your first album and they all help me to reflect on the stages of my life. One thing, please consider doing a tour, It would complete your loyal fans experience of "The Mint".

Got the CD yesterday...boy did I miss you guys! I caught the DC show at the Lincoln and was lovin' it. Being a musician myself, it's hard to listen to today's canned "music" of loops over samples, so real singing and real music is always my first choice. Especially with all the garbage topics about thugs & baby mamas...it's refreshing to hear quality topics that don't glamorize ignorance or downplay one gender or the other. Don't ever stop brothers, please don't ever stop doing what you do. Thank you so much for keeping me inspired.

Hey I bought your album yesterday and it is great as usual. The mark of any good musician is growth. You guys could have easily filled this album up with copies of "Pretty Brown Eyes", "You Send Me Swinging" and your other hits...but you took a chance and delivered. You guys are an under appreciated talent in the music industry today. With everybody else relying on the hottest producers and cookie cutter hits, you guys are throw backs to tthe days of EWF,ConFunkShun and Slave. I hope you guys seriously consider doing a live album some day and I hope you guys make it back to NC. Keep the faith guys...yesterday you made true music fans happy again.

Mint,
My comments might not be received well, but hear my heart. I am a huge fan of MC, and that will never change. However, the album, although it is HOT, lacked the BAND feel that the first three albums captured. With the software consistantly changing the industry, I long for the true sound of music that has been tainted and lost. For example, I would prefer to travel the country and see you in concert as opposed to buy the album. But since money and time prevents that I enjoy the CD. From one musician to 'five'(or six with Chris or Terry), do that LIVE album that will make the pseudo bands and groups wake up to what true craftmanship with melodies and harmonies is all about. God bless you and success with the album. See you in Dallas.

Nice cd. Very refreshing to hear from everyone of you again. My personal favorite is "Fallin' Apart" there is so much emotion in that jam. Brangs tears to my eyes everytime I play it as does "This day, this minute, right now" (previous cd, ha) Next time your in FL and a short sista asks you to sing it PLEASE don't be a tease.

Hello all! I was JUST asking someone not long ago, "...when is MC gonna put out another smash?!" I was ELATED to get to the back of Sister 2 Sister Magazine and see the ad for this album :) MC, it's BLAZIN'! The lyrics are deep, the instruments are hypnotic... WHOA And the bonus DVD?! WHAT A TREAT! Just when I was gettin' into it, it was over :( Can't wait for the concert DVD. MC, please, please, PLEASE bring your tour to Ohio. We need a REAL show for a change. I saw you all years ago when you opened up for Janet, and you ROCKED.

God has truly blessed you all. MC is undeniably talented, and I pray you all the best - LOVE, HEALTH & HAPPINESS*******

Peace!

I have been waiting for this day for so long. I am not only excited, but proud of you all for staying together as a band and constantly distinguishing yourself by truly creating the definition of a band. The DVD has got my ears bleeding!!! The transitions within "pain our pleasure" drove me up the wall. Musically you all make me so proud. Please make sure you all stop by Chicago! You got fans that couldn't have made it through college without your albums. ALL OF THEM! Stay different. Be yourself! It's a beautiful thang!

Absolutely unbelievable...I saw the performance at BBKings NYC last night...speechless, I have not words to describe how incredible it was. R&B, rock, funk and jazz...they did it all! This band is one of a kind. Six years is way to long, but they came back strong. PLEASE support this group, especially those my age 25 and younger...it's time we listen and support truly talented artists, because whats out today is commercial, computerized, and not real. These guys are timeless. Nothing out today compares, THIS is real music. Out of all my live performance experiences, this blows everthing out of the water. Buy the album(s), support the group, and lets get Mint back on the radio so everyone can experience the overwhelmingly great experience of Mint Condition.

Yes I was also at the BB Kings show and it was a historic experience. Honestly it was better than the Prince show I saw in New York last year. MC you have been my favorite group period since I played your debut CD into a thin film my freshman year of college...and you're just getting better. The new album is your most consistently great to date. I LOVE "Sad Girl"!! "Look Wachu Done For Me" should be your next single. Keep doing it guys!! No one in the business sings better than Stokely!

I'm glad it's not just me who has missed these brothas!!! I've purchased everything these guys have ever put out -- Went to get their new joint on the 19th and found out I had to wait another week; so instead, I purchased the last 2 CDs they did (as I only had the cassettes). I am definitely a true fan of MC. It is so very refreshing to hear "real" and "true" music with lyrics that really do mean something. I'm supposed to be going to the bay area (San Fran) for a wedding June 2nd through the 5th, and I may have to skip out on the wedding just to see you guys!!! LOL. When are you coming to OKC??? If not here, I may have to travel on down to Dallas to catch the act.

Again, thanks for a great new CD!!!

Everything about the show was magical, and I will remember it forever. Anytime y'all are in or around DC, I will sho nuff be there!
I also got the new CD on Tuesday; loving it! I can't express to you all enough how much I appreciate and value your music. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

Mint Condition...YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN! Thank you, for your consistant sounds of rn'b, hip-hop, rock and jazz. Where have you guys been?

Stokely, you give me a reason to continue to sing, write, produce, mix and master my own music. You inspire me and continue to inspire me everytime ya'll come out. With every note sang, key played, drum beat and guitar chord, you inspire me. Thank ya'll SO MUCH. There is been so much garbage out there, everything sounding the same as the next person's stuff. And BLAM! M.C. dropped it like it was RED HOT. I've been saved once again, with your emotionally infused vocals and awesome runs. Not to much, not to little. Just enough and right on time.

I am an artist (pencil as well as musical) and to show my appreciate and thanks, I am working on a 24x24 pencil drawing of the group, and hopefully one day you all will honour me with your signatures. I would also like to give the group a framed copy of the artwork.

Looking forward to seeing you guys at the Essence Festival.

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!
Man, I've been waiting for a long time. I've been searching the internet and other sources for about two years to find information on what was up with The Mint. I was starting to get scared, thinking that you guys weren't coming back. I see there has been a slight change in the line up, but I guess you guys had to trim some fat. I just happened to be in Best Buy and saw the CD. Before I knew it I was jumping up and down in the store with excitment! I know the people thought I was crazy, but they just don't know how happy I was that MC was BACK! I've been listening to the CD non-stop for the last few days and can't figure out which song is my favorite. I really like "Runaway". I've been listening intently to the lyrics trying to hear the true message. "Luxury Brown" really grows on you; I can't get it out of my head. "Sad girl" has a real nice groove to it.

MC you are a great inspiration to me both as a writer and musician. PLEASE keep doing what you do.

P.S. What's up? Can I get a tour? Make sure you stop in Pittsburgh, PA. Prince turned it out and I know The Mint can too.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU

Mint's #1 here, as told to me by Jeff in '96.

The album is like an early christmas gift or apology to fans who've been waiting so long. It's overloaded with good stuff.

Swole didn't make it, huh, fellas? Whoa, Half an Hour, and It's Hard had to be the most unexpected pleasures of the package. The switch to almost total rock for the last 6 or so tracks was also a pleasant surprise.

Let's see how far we can take this one fellas.

Anybody catch the openers at the BBKing show in NY?

Like a dry cracked Earth beneath a cloudless sky, my ears longed for the return of the melodious and hypnotic sounds of Mint Condition . . . . Welcome back, Gentlemen - Welcome back!

I'm confident that I can speak for all of your Fans when I say, "We've missed you terribly!" Just know that no matter how much time has passed, you are still loved and very much appreciated! Your style is beyond unique; it defies description to be honest, so I'll refrain from attempting to do so. I'm just elated to hear that you all have remained consistent in your eccentricity. But for the record, no matter how many hits you produce, 'So Fine', '10 Million' and of course, 'Pretty Brown Eyes' will ALWAYS top MY list!

Though I missed your show in DC on 4/28/05 due to circumstances beyond my control, trust that next time you come to the Chocolate City, THESE 'Pretty Brown Eyes' will be front and center! I love you guys and look forward to seeing you LIVE!

Got the disk in the mail the other day (yay!) and saw a Wal-Mart promotion on it. Say it ain't so!!!! For those of you who don't know about Wal-Mart's wicked business practices--resulting in the deaths of overnight stock clerks unable to escape a fire because they were locked in; the end of the Rubbermaid company; and the loss of countless independent small businesses unable to compete; the list goes on and on--you should check it out. Those of us who have the choice should avoid supporting companies like this. Vote with your dollar--it's the only real way to make a difference when capitalism takes the place of democracy. Namaste.

I had the once in a life time pleasure of meeting the Mint in Atlanta back in 1997 at Hot 97 radio station. I have truly been a fan of the band since the beginning. It is a day that I will never forget as long as I live. I purchased the CD on April 26th and was completely shocked. How on the Creator's green earth is it possible for the band to be tighter and better than before? I was (and still am since I've been listening to the CD since it's purchase) shocked. These brothers are truly blessed with all of the talent they've been given. As anyone who knows me knows since I've said this time and time again---the Mint is honestly the only truly talented band out there. So called "stars" in the business should purchase the Mint Condition catalog of music, take notes and learn a thing or three. Keep on doing what you do and stay blessed...

STILL and truly your # 1 fan,
Kimberly

Don't ever listen to those that would have you believe that we wouldn't appreciate your talent. We have been waiting for this!!! I love the rock feel too! I have learned from my kids that there is beauty in every music. Love U! Don't Stop.

We as fans have to look out for yall even when the record companies won't. If anyone wants to join me in my efforts go to http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/mintconditionfanpage/ . I have links for several different shows to request the band to perform on their shows, you can also go to www.radioblack.com , it has all the r&b/hip hop stations in the country and abroad so we can get our requesting on. Let's show Mint how much we really love them.

Mint Condition.... I have to say that your music has been the soundtrack to many lives. In short, the new album is simply amazing. We as fans of real music have been imprisoned by R&B overkill and hip hop madness. God Bless the self-contained band!!!!!

I was bewildered, shocked, and saddened to find out that you performed in DC on 4/28/05. We here in Baltimore were told NOTHING!!!! I saw on the blog that you are returning to DC on 8/27/05. Please send details on upcoming performances in Philly, NYC, DC, Baltimore or Virginia to riarob@comcast.net

i was in sound of market in philadelphia on business last week and they were playing 'living the luxury..' after talking for about 20mins i was like 'what is this you are playing??' he was like 'mint condition' as he lead me over to the endcap where there were only 2 copies of 20 left. i snatched it up and jammed to it my entire drive back to NYC which ironically was the night of your BB Kings performance! when you are back in NYC i will be there front & center, i heard that show was amazing! its good to see a quality band still providing quality music in spite of the music industry drama for the fans that appreciate it!
GOOD LUCK, GOOD LUCK, GOOD LUCK!

There are just some CDs that you have got to have the hard copy of. This is one of them. It was a nice surprise to see that there was an accompanying DVD as well :-)
"Livin' the Luxury Brown" is MINT!
It will definitely be on rotation in my Car, iPod, Home Stereo, for a long long time. All my friends and all of my neighbors will know about the latest release from your band!
CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU

We love you in the BK come on out soon. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is calling your name!

Mint Condition, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, sooooo much. You have made me one very happy lady here. I was totally elated to hear that you had some new material forth coming because I am the Biggest Mint Condition fan in the world. I’ve had an insatiable taste for The Mint since the beginning. Your musicianship is most innovative and exquisite. Stokley’s vocals make me melt like butter in 120 degrees. I started getting anxious around 2003, thinking how you had been averaging a CD every 2-3 years but 4 years had passed and yet nothing came out. I would desperately search the Internet high and low but couldn’t find anything. I thought that you all had moved on with your lives, gotten attached and were making house and home. Retired from the game while still on top. Man, was I glad to be Wrong!!!!! I want to thank each and every one of you immensely for all the years of Great Music!

Thank you for, Breakin’ My Heart, Forever In Your Eyes, A super special thank you for Single To Mingle (This song did things to me, took me to places, oh my goodness. That magical voice and L.W’s golden fingers, Woo!) Thank you for Someone to Love, U Send Me Swingin’, So Fine, You Don’t Have to Hurt, What Kind of Man Would I Be, If You Love Me and This Day, This Minute, Right Now. There was some serious bumpin and grindin going on to these grooves and an influx in new baby births as an end result. These songs made you feel like you were so in love with whomever you were with, if nothing but only for as long as the song played. If you had no one, you would form a mental image of someone you liked and pretend to be in love.
Thank you for, Here We Go Again, Sensuous Appeal, If the Feelings Right, Good for Your Heart and Deep In My Pockets. My JAMS! These songs had me busting all kind of moves that I never even knew that I could do. When I hear these songs today, all the years later, I still go buck wild.
Thank you for the super sexy Gettin’ It On and Ain’t Hookin’ Me Up Enough. These songs helped me realize my sexy stripper potentials.
Thank you for, Let Me Be the One, with the old skool flavor. This song takes me back in the day with some fond memories of being little and watching my mother and father get their groove on to their song.
Thank you for those beautiful, beautiful, beautiful vocals on Just the Man for You and If It Wasn’t for Your Love. When I hear these 2 pieces, that’s’ it, times out, I am absolutely no good anymore. Stokley, your voice is truly hypnotic.
Thank you for Fidelity and Sometimes. I can do the head bangers too especially when they’re funky.
I could go On & On & On & On & On but I want to get to the Luxurious things in my life so, real quick…. Thank you for, Try My Love (feels like I’m at a Mint jam session), 10 Million Strong (absolutely loved it), Harmony (Sing This Sucka!), My High (this entire CD was a Masterpiece), Raise Up (Strong message with a funky beat), and all the other goodies I failed to mention. I just simply Love Em All!

Ahhh,, now on to my latest treasure, which is, not surprisingly, another Masterpiece. I haven’t been this excited about a CD in a long time.

Sista - Nice funky joint you gotta shake your hips to. Love it. Rewind twice.

Look Whachu Done To Me - Stokley rips this song to pieces like only he can do. Rewind a few times.

Whoa - A sexy groove to put you in the mood, setting you up for next two goodies. Rewind at least twice.

I’m Ready - Classic Mint Condition, 2005 style! Great love making music. Rewind twice.

Love Your Tears - Another Minty classic. The romance continues. Rewind twice.

Luxury Brown - A couple word changes and this is my story.

Half An Hour - Nice smooth jam and so very true. Rewind.

Its Hard - Masterful! A little R&B, a lil Hip Hop, a lil Rock,.. funky,.. Gumbo. Rewind a few times.

Runaway - I hear you Ricky, go ahead with your bad self. Everybody wants a guitar now. I have no voice anymore, thanks Stokley, but Rewind it few times anyway.

Fallin - Brilliant piece! This song has the most exquisite vocals, keys and strings. Woo!, all over again. Thank you Stokley, Larry, Odell and Ricky. Rewind many times.

What Happened - Nice Jazzy joint. Rewind twice.

Sad Girl - Take me to Church! I’m all over the place now in absolute joy. This is the Ultimate Feel Good song. Rewind over and over.

Doormat - Head banging rocker joint with interesting lyrics. Just MC staying true and I’m not mad at them either. I sing right along with it. Nice guitar and drum play.

One Wish - Ditto but with Ricky helping on the vocals and Jeffrey on sax.

We Got Us - Nice jazzy smooth song to close out this delicious piece of work. Start it from the beginning

Stokley, Thank you!
Jeffrey, Thank you!
Lawrence, Thank you!
O’Dell, Thank you!
Ricky, Thank you!

MC, I don’t know how I can stress it enough. I Love and Adore you. Don’t ever change and continue to live Luxuriously.

See ya August 27th at Carter Barron, front row center if I can help it. You better watch it, (especially Stokley) and have security on guard cause if I’m front row or anywhere in the vicinity, I’m coming on stage to get me some suga………. Naw, don’t worry, I’m not that bold.

Look Whachu Done To Me

A Bonafide Mintaholic

My 17 year old son and I are fighting over who gets the CD next; but he'll get his own for his birthday in a few days! I'm teaching him about the real thing, real music, from real artists like yourselves.
Your music is definately heart felt, its from the soul - totally innate! I appreciate all the hard work you put in your music, and may God continue to order your steps and strengthen the vibe of such a wonderful band.

I have been a Mint Condition fan since 1992 when "Pretty Brown Eyes" first came out. There is no other band that does it like you guys do. I remember Stokley breaking it down on the Arsenio Hall Show singing "My Dear"...I'm from Southern California and I saw y'all at the 1st 92.3 the Beat "Cooldown" and you broke off Forever in your Eyes"...My favorite was the 1st time I saw Mint at Disneyland "Grad Nite" in 1992, when Y'all sang with beautiful harmony and Stokley broke it off on the drums!!..Well, today I bought the new CD and I just love it and thank you for the DVD included, i yelled when I bought the last copy in the store...I remember when I tried to contact Larkin Arnold in Beverly Hills just to get a poster from you guys..and it worked!!They sent me a poster from the "From the Mint Factory" album with your autographs on it!!People were hating on me but oh well...Since i'm on the west coast,it's hard to see you guys in concert because people out here don't know what REAL MUSIC is!!Stokely, I want to personally thank you for the interview that you did on the DVD about "being different" because you guys are not like everyone else you're leaders not followers and don't let anyone tell you any different...By the way the new member does mesh good with the music-keep it up and i wish Kerri Lewis all the best with Toni....FOREVER YOUR MUSICAL FAN FOR 13 YEARS,

I am so excited because on June 18th you guys will be in Dallas
again. This live performance will
be the first time that I have ever seen you guys in concert. Being a neophyte to the live experience of
Mint Condition, I am unable to fathom just how stupendous it is going to be.
Now don't let that fact of me never seeing you guys live, be interpreted as lack of interest. I have been a Mint Condition follower since 1991;to reiterate I popped many cassettes back in the day. I would play Pretty Brown Eyes over and over again. My children were 2,4 and 5.5 and it
was difficult for me to find myself
pulling away from them to enjoy even such stupendous talent as yourselves;so I opted to buy your
music and indulge this way. But now that the responsibility of raising 3 children alone has matured to them being 15, 17 and 19, I owe it to myself to partake of this live experience. I am convinced that because I will not be disappointed. Sometimes waiting
and holding off can be much sweeter
to the palette.
I have been reading the blogs and
seeing how everyone is saying that
these performances are the bomb!I
even saw where one fan decsribed the show as phenomenal. I have been feeling like an outsider looking in, but no longer! I am going to bust into this live experience like a husband into a bride-chamber on wedding night.

See you in June!!!! Yen

I cannot get enough of this album. It's the only thing I play now...well besides the previous albums of course. I am hoping you guys come to either Tampa or St. Petersburg, FL. I want to see the song "Runaway" performed live and in color. I bet it is magnificent! You guys are the real deal and you have this long-time fan for life. This is byfar the only album I have now that I play all the way through. You know how on some artist's album you might skip a track or 2 just to get to "your song" (saying..."Heyyyyy That's my song!"). I do have my faves on this one too but I love every track. My faves are "Whoaa", "I'm Ready" & "Love Your Tears" because I have someone in life right now that is doing all 3! It's funny how some albums are more significant than others because of what is going on in your life when you hear it. Living the Luxury Brown is definitely one of them for sho'.

I love you guys. It's good to see a band of execellent musicians who are also good to look at! Good Lawd!! Anyway let me come back to what I want to say and that is Thanks and God Bless all of you and your families...

Welcome Back to the baddest band in the land. I love this cd sooo much. It is so nice to hear real music again. It's been a while since I've seen you guys live but I will certainly be front and center in Dallas. Stokley, I absolutely love you, you are so talented as well as gorgeous to the eyes. God has truly blessed you (hope you give me a shout out in Dallas, if possible, my name is Shannon). Some of the other posters have inquired so I will as well. Brother, brother, brother are you married? I know you're married to your music. Anyway, wheter or not, I wish all the best to you and the rest of the fabulous band. Stoke your voice is so hypnotic and the sound and chemistry you and the guys have is pure genious. Having you guys back on the scene is like finding a rare diamond amongst the trash of today's current music scene.

I'm so glad you guys have stayed true to your music and the craft that you have perfected. Please, please never get caught up in the tacky sound of todays current music industry stylings or lack thereof. You guys are definitely the best thing since sliced bread.

MUCH LOVE, SUCCESS AND BLESSINGS

I've stopped counting the number of concerts I've been to and this easily ranks among my top 3. The band was just tight and Stokely's vocal and stage presence were d@mned near unmatched. As rare as it all is today, your craft is that much more appreciated. If at all possible, please release a full length concert DVD. The footage that came with the CD is great, but we crave more! I remember the first time i heard Petty Brown Eyes, I was comming home from school on the bus and i rmember telling everyone to be quiet because the sound that i was hearing was incredible, and then i saw the video, tears came to my eyes. I remember saying i would never break your heart. My family thought i was crazy because every since then it was all about you MC. Although I love you ALL, I have a special love for Stokley, your voice is incredible. you performed this past friday june 3rd here in cali at the K.E. and i was one of the ladies sitting in the front row on the right side of you. The music, the vocals, everything was so incredible I was mezmerized. it was like i was hipnotized I forgot all the lyrics and sometimes could not get on beat. Belive me when i say that has only happened once to me, and it was when i saw Prince in concert. Stockley our voice makes me feel special and i wish i was bold enough to tell you that in person. No disrespect to your woman (if there is one) but you look so sexy on stage. your energy is orgasmic, and i cant belive im even writing this. i have one question to you Stokley, Are you Shy? Or is it that you dont like looking women in the eyes while your singing. Does it throw you off or what? I was in the front row and I just wanted you to look me in the eyes for a couple of seconds and make me feel like i was the only one in the room. I know its selfish to others but i was just wishing it would of happend that friday night. Its Okay. To sum this all up, i want to just congradulate you all for another successful cd, keep up the good work and when you hit up the Bay Area again I'll be in the front row waiting for the look! (ha,ha,ha,)

It really sucks that "Meant To Be Mint" cd is out of print. I was trying to attain my copy of it and I see that on the computer that it is no longer made. That really sucks!!!! Once again, I hope you guys get the promotion you deserve because I have not heard one song from you guys here in NY yet. All I hear is the garbage music the dj's play on the radio. Please do another concert in NY and please let a brotha know about it, lol. Take care and God Bless

I just want to say that I LOVE Mint Condition!!!! You guys are a true band. Like many others, I have been a fan of your music since you first came out in the very early '90s. I got to see the band play live and was truly satisfied with the vibe I felt from your music. Stokley and the band was breakin it down oh-so-well!!!! Truely off the chain!!!! "Breakin My Heart" (Pretty Brown eyes) became my them song back in the day. All I can say is keep doin what your doin. I miss seeing Keri Lewis in the band and hope things work out for him as well, however, it would be very sweet to see the whole band (including Keri Lewis) do their thang just one more time for the fans. Anyway, I love your new single "I'm ready" and I know I'm going to love the whole CD "Livin The Luxury Brown". Right now I am lovin "Half an hour" on the new CD and hope for it to be your next single. You did a show in Oakland, Cali this past weekend and believe me when I say "The Bay loves you guys"..Holla!!!

Mint,
If you only knew how excited I am to hear, and then SEE you last weekend LIVE...MUSIC is still Music. Your show was excellent, real, intimate, stuck to my heart forever. My wedding song was "Someone to Love" and you sang it, finally, for me. I emailed you a couple of years ago to ask if you would sing it at my wedding (yes, I would have payed you!) but I could not find anything. Kept hope alive and when a friend told me you had a CD and that day, I had it. The concert, we had tickets...we were on it. To see you, sounding better. To know that it's about God's gift of music--from the heart. The lyrics are real to us, and from your hearts we know exactly what you are feeling when it comes through vocally and instrumentally. So effective and so timely, you are divinely in the right place at the right time. Thanks for the true music. My 12 year old daughter and I can't stop listening. She "hears" it to. Love you Stokely. You made us laugh at the Emeryville, CA show, but we hung in with you until we started caughing...you sing all instruments too. Thank you so much Mint! I love when you said "if it's never been done before, lets do that"...creativity is Godly!

I just have to say you guys are GREAT!!!! I have all of your albums and they are all wonderful. With each new one you put out I'm thinking okay, all of their other albums have been fabulous so far, so one of these new ones has got to be bad! Bad way to think, I know! But everytime you guys come out with something new, it's just as great as the first time. I'm always satisfied! You guys are always refreshing and new, but you stay consistent so it always feels like you! You guys really are Mint! Thanks!

I just have to say that you guys are a Godsend, and to be able to hear real music coming for a genuine group of guys is so endearing and very much appreciated. Thank you so much for maintaining your soulful rhythms, beats, melodies and lyrics. Your art is something to be savored, and I personally feel so blessed to have ears to hear your musical masterpieces. I experienced the BEST show last night in Atlanta, and it truly goes down in my books as one of the best performances of all time!! ...and that comes from an avid Prince fan who has frequented his concerts. You guys are so genuine and that's what makes you so much more appreciated and respected. I pray that your music continues to flow, and always know you are loved and embraced by all of your fans. I am truly a fan, and I can't wait to see what's next!! Keep up the good work and I hope to see you in Chattanooga! Love Mint for Life!!

Mint Condition, Mint Condition, MINT CONDITION.......you brothas are TRULY AMAZING. You are to me what Earth, Wind, and Fire and Frankie Beverly and Maze were to my parents. I know that you all may think that is an extreme comparison but I have much respect for those bands and I LOVE their music as well. It just that I saw you brothas perform for the first time this past weekend at the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN and you were WONDERFUL!!! You brothas were very kind and took the time to speak with us as fans and sign posters at the meet and greet. I want you to know that I appreciate each of you and your down to earth attitudes. I hope that you never change and please keep the music coming!! Don't worry about taking so long to put out another album just take your time and do it right. And don't think that we (fans) have forgotten you because your music is with us always. I LOVE YOU LARRY, O'DELL, RICKY, STOKLEY, JEFFREY......MINT CONDITION!!

Hello Mint Condition! When are you coming back to the Cleveland /Akron area? I've been waiting to hear a new recording or to see you for so long! I'm yo' biggest fan in this area (all of five feet tall). I've been Living The Luxory Brown, I find your music mintellectual, and I almost had a mintal brealdown when I heard the new music. I had to tell my friends ans convinced a hand full of people to buy your new CD. I tell my friends around the world about you so now guys are minternational!

The music on this CD was not what I had expected... which could be a good thing. And,I love it! Whoa is not my favorite song, (Sad Girl, Look Whachu Done, Its Hard, One Wish, Doormat, and the Interludes are JUST A FEW of my favorites. Hey does Runaway or One Wish have any reflection on your relationship with the departed Kerry Lewis? Just askin'... I didn't want to mention any other names either.) But Whoa should be the next single! But then again it is a strong song, so you might want to save it after the release of a ballad to get a little stretch in longevity of the CD. I'm trippin now!

Any way there is a big ballroom dancing craze goin'on and that groove is perfect. Perhaps it puts one in the mind of whts his name... Oh, R. Kelley's Steppin' Out On Love... But its Whoa Betta! Plus if you release Whoa as the next single you could "mintegrate" into an older audience who love real music and don't really know about Mint Condition.

I have a VHS recording of a BET/Planet Groove performance that my husband and I STILL watch. We hear something new every time. We are Chris Dave fans who was missin' from the DVD (What?!!... Forgive me for forgetting the drummers name on the DVD, but he's bad too! My hubby is a drummer too, If you don't mind me saying!) We are fans of all of you! (Shhh... I really LOVE Stokely, great drummer and singer, and Ricky, Fat Jeff, O'Dell, Lawrence, you all are BAD!

Eighteen good songs and a DVD for 15 bucks? Thats a great deal for my money! Keep the music comin' men. Come back to Cleveland. We'll have neck Bones, candied yams, turnips, butter steak, grits and gravy wit some cracklin' bread just for you! Come back to Cleveland and Make It Funky!

Sincerely,

Mr. and Mrs.P. and Skillonius Funk

Let's make it official and go ON and ON, and ON... I just wanted to say thanks again for coming to Dallas. The concert was excellent even though the weather outside was hot as hades. You guys are the only group I would sit in the hot Texas sun for hours to see. The tan will go away. I love the new album and was glad that you all took the time to sign all the autographs that you did. You are all so nice and I do appreciate you all also taking the time to take photos as well. Just to refresh your memory, I'm the one who ran out of memory and had to delete some of my previous photos to get the last two with you guys. I will constantly be on the look out for your return to Dallas or any city near here.

Stokley, Stokley what can I say, you are absolutely gorgeous and even more so in person and your voice sounds as awesome as ever. The whole band sounded great. I am soooo glad I got the chance to see you and look forward to many, many more concerts. I would gladly pay double, triple to see you all, you are definitely worth it. Thanks again.

Much love and blessings,

OopS!! Wrong key! I just wanted to let you guys know how I enjoyed my first performance. It was very true to form, "Mint Condition". It was all that I expected. Seeing you guys up close and personal sounds sort of derrogatory; equating you to a zoo exhibit or a side show. I would rather word it as partaking of your vibe. The spirit of the band is electric yet soulful, you feel like family.
Stokely you were what you present
every time you open your mouth, no surprises there. Your love for what you do is very unique and has somewhat of a mysticism to it. Lawrence you were as cool as always on the keys, the lyrics to your songs always make me cry. Jeffrey you were very down to earth, you barely blinked an eye when I asked you for a autograph. I know you love McDonald's apple pies, so do I . Big girls love to eat! I wanted to bring you one but it would have been so hard after the show. Maybe next time. You were stupendous on the Sax! Jeff, the new drummer is very good! He reminded me of my second son so I have a soft spot like a Mother would have toward him. I save Ricky and O'dell for last because I love the strings! Ricky, Ricky ,Ricky you are so free and animated! Your skills are superb!!
O'dell you are a nut, you humor is a delicassy. It takes a very sound individual to be able to handle your candor. Like spirits recognize like spirits.LoL.Your skills on those strings are like "Whoa"! I wished I could play that way. You remind me of one of my homeboys. Your're for real!!
I am loving your cd since L'Oren bought it for me. I am sorry she didn't make it. She sends her regards. I am planning to drive down to New Orleans to see you guys, I have got to budget. I am from New Oleans before Dallas. Hopefully we will see you there.
Keep it Real! Peace and Love!

As a matter of fact...You hit 'em over the head with this one...and the bad part about it is...they didn't even see it comin'!!!(lol) By the way, I think you have got to get some pictures on the website of Rick doing the splits...I thought "me" being full of mojitos on a Tuesday night was entertaining, but Rick has it hands down!!! Thanks for blessing us with your gift of artistry, creativity, and music.

I'll see you in Detroit and maybe Richmond!!!

Your energy is so transposed to your fan-base. I love your music but I feel awkward to call myself a fan sometimes when I look at the work of KimJack1106. If you haven't gone to mintconditionfanpage@yahoo.com, you should definitely do that. This woman is more than a fan, she is a moderator of a site that this is ever informing and always "fresh". This site always has new information; from articles to pics to new dates across the U.S.. I amazed at the effort that she puts forth from day to day. And this woman is a busy working woman. I sometimes wonder where does she find the time. She really represents you guys in a very beautiful light. Somtimes I feel guilty when I peek at the site because I am always a partaker and not a helper. That is why I have decided to write you guys. I know that your fans are abundant, but fans like this have a little "lagniappe". They always give you that little "bonus".Fans like this need props man. And I chose to give her some. And this is no fly by night, she has been doing this site before the new cd. Go Kim!!!

My name is Timika and I am 27 years old and a Single mother. Mint Condition has been a part of my music collection since 1991. I love all of the albums. I really love the music and the message in the songs. It is real and it feels good. I recently attended the Chicago Navy pier concert and I love it. I was dancing in the left isle with my black and white 50's style flower dress on. I think Stokley , Odell, and Rickey may have saw me! I am not a groupie or a crazy fan but I am rather a true fan who appreciates good music and charisma. I hope the Mint Condition keep on making the music and continue to have a love for music and not just the fame. I sing myself but if I were to sing professionally I would not want tracks because I feel the real acoustics of a band. Most of the songs that come out I just asume that it is for me, because every time they come out with a new album most of the lyrics apply to me. Im Ready, Love your Tears Away, I Got You, It's Hard, Runaway, If you Love me, Pain or Pleasure, This Day this Minute, On and One, You dont have to hurt, What kind of Man, So Fine, Someone to Love, My Dear, You send me Swinging, Free, Forever in your Eyes, Single to Mingle and more. I will love Mint Condition Forever. I can reminise on a decade of my life just by listening to your music. Too many people sleep on yall. Maybe one day I can meet you and tell you in person but if not you will always have my support.

Peace

Love your Greatest Fan

Please come back to Oakland, Ca. Thank you so very much for giving us the gift of REAL music. Best live show since Fela Kuti. In fact, how wonderful it would be if ya'll could do some work with Fela or Zap Mama. All the women in da house were swooning.

Please come back! And, again, thank you for your gifts.

To JEFFREY: You won't remember me, but we made eye contact most of the show during the last show at Kimball's (Sunday night)...I waved goodnight to you near the end. I was in the middle of the audience, about 5 rows back. Shoulder length curly black hair, medium brown skin, pink and gold tank top, sitting at a table of four, waving like a high school girl. My point is: I am certainly no groupie, am a professional woman, yet it is important that I state that I was deeply moved by your sax solo and your work in the background. You and the band are beautiful.

Thank you. Thank you. Come back to Oakland. Soon.

Love you guys! I was browsing for your music on Real Rhapsody (it's legal and I needed to replace the songs on my worn out CDs) and your newest album is NOT listed on there. Also, this new one is not acknowledged on Music Choice (music on digital cable). This channel says that your latest album is Life's Aquarium. Is it possibly because you have a new label that it's not acknowleged in these places?? If there's anything you can do, that'd be great so I can hear you guys' new stuff on the music channels. Keep up the great work and I love your albums!

Oh, how I've missed you guys! Periodically, over the past four years I've done web searches to see when you would be touring. I was fortunate enough to see you June 23 at Navy Pier. I bought the CD on the "sideline" after the show. I've been singing and humming the songs/tunes ever since.

I think "Sad Girl" is a really sweet song. "Fallin Apart" is kinda cool and sexy. It has the same feel as "Sometimes" from the "Definition of a Band" CD. I always liked that song. "It's Hard" is cool and funky as is/are "I'm Ready" and "Luxury Brown". "Whoa" is also sweet. It gets me bouncing each time I hear it. I'm sure it would make other Chicagoans want to "Step".

The lyrics, as always, are ripe.
I like the following from "Look Whachu Done 2 Me" (I hope I'm saying it/typing it right):
"There's no more watching you coming out the shower, with your head towel, with all that power you possess, baby." I think that's sweet!!!

I wish you guys much success with your new CD and your independent label.

Much, much love.

The album is solid. The more I listen to it ...the more I find little changes, etc. that I didn't pay attention before. Also, I hope that "Love Your Tears Away" and "Fallin' Apart" are released as singles between the beginning of Fall and the beginning of Spring. Those songs are definitely going to be hot for Fall and Winter. I can already hear them being played during the holiday season :)

My vote counted. "Whoaa" won out as the second single. I see "Love Your Tears Away" came in second and "Half an Hour" came in third.

I don't know if you guys will consider releasing any more singles in the order of what appeared in this first poll; However, if you do, "Love Your Tears Away" is not a bad choice. You know we have to have a ballad.
If I was to pick another song besides "Love Your Tears Away" it would be "It's Hard".

Hope all is going well for you guys, and keep safe on the road.

Much, much love.

The show was amazing last night , guys! Sorry about the lost luggage , Ricky not getting to take Chante's picture and that crazy drunk guy in the front row during "What Kind Of Man Would I Be". And yes , I was spotted as the white guy in the front row last night and I got to sign Stokely's big card! Shout out to the fellow MC fan that let me sign the card last night. Anyway , great show last night! Hope to see you guys again sometime!

Hey Guys,

Awesome show Friday in Detroit! I knew you guys would take care of business. Sorry about the lost luggage and the Chante picture incident. Detroit loves you and would love to see you guys make it hear again soon. This was my wife's first time seeing you guys. She loved it!

P.S. I loved the setlist but thanks especially for performing "Someone to Love". My wife and I have kind of adopted that one as "our song".

Peace and love,

Brian

Being in the biz myself I consider you guys our last hope in R&B music. I can’t find one top ten R&B song that has real drums in it. Real drums create that pocket lock that produces that fish face funk that I miss from today’s loopers and sequencers. If anybody ever tries to force you guys to fit the format of recycled music, “you are legal to carry” :-) Thanx for the live DVD that was a great idea. Holding down the R&B live in Germany representing Cleveland Ohio billdogmusic@t-online.de PS that cat called k munny, well I played in a band with him and we covered one of your songs live, (What kind of man) had to be there :-)Stay Real..Billdog

The Performance at the 2005 Essence Music Festival was great. I was pleasantly surprised. It was my first time at that event and your performance made it that much more... Especially, during the 2nd show;when the lead singer approached the crowd, walked across the stage and leaned forward in my direction. Maybe you'll consider a show in Massachusetts and I can probably get your autographs:) If I don't get another chance to see your performance; I wish the band continued success. Sorry:( for the delay!

First, thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing what you do with style, originality, grace, respect and love. From my perspective, in experiencing your live performances, I am struck by how you are really operating within your spiritual gifts and talents. You don’t often see that in life, period. That is inspiring. Besides your music in and of itself, how you do what you do is what I find so exciting and dynamic about Mint Condition. It is an experience. It’s got to be difficult sometimes, to be really committed to your craft, balance the pitfalls of the business side of things (don’t get me started on how the music/radio industry is cheating us out of art that could define and inspire humanity as a whole) and take care of your families, but I would just like to say, Be Encouraged. (to paraphrase from 2 Timothy), just run the race, with endurance, and you will reap the rewards! You all are really a blessing. Music is the gift that keeps on giving.

Thank you for the high energy performance at the Indiana Black Expo. It demonstrated your craftsmanship and your savvy. From the set list, it was clear that you had carefully thought about who the audience was going to be for the event, and how to get their ears “open” to hear your new material, unlike the preceding acts! You crafted the perfect blend of the old and new to keep the audience interested and totally amped up! My best friend, who is not a Mint Condition admirer, was thoroughly impressed with your musicianship. I bought her the CD, and she loves it! I’ve been a fan since I was a freshman in college and seeing/hearing the live performance just escalates my appreciation to another level. Mint Condition live is addictive! (Stokley was so animated for this performance: he was bounding up and down the stage. Rick’s spin was in full affect. I later saw Jeff and Lawrence casually conversing with some fans and taking pictures with them. Way cool).

The Livin the Luxury Brown CD is word-defying in its authenticity and emotion. How can you describe it to your friends in a few words? R&B? Funk? Rock? Fusion? None and all of these apply. They just have to experience it. I could not even cast a vote for the second single because there are simply too many good choices!!!! Thank you for staking a contemporary claim to music that comes from all corners of the African American experience. The CD is a “community reminder” that we are creative and innovators in all genres of music, not just the labels that get applied to our style, performances, and music by other people (Frankly, if ya’ll came out with an album that was just rock, I’d be the first one in line to get it! As someone who listens in the genre, my vote would be for “Runaway” for the college/modern rock crowd).

I really love and respect what you do. Please keep doing it─ fans of real music and live performance need you now more than ever. Keep bringing the music (be bold with it!) and doing your thing!

Continued success and blessings.

PS. DC loves Mint Condition! The next time you are here, after the Carter Barron, ya’ll know you need to have 2 shows right? 1 at the Lincoln is just not going to hold all of the FOOMS that will want to be front and center rocking the house with you!

After reading all the previous messages I know that it will be a great show and well worth the drive from Connecticut. I'm celebrating my 40th birthday and what better way to celebrate it than with the Mint. I have been a HUGE fan for many many years. I love all of the songs especially the new ones. Well, I'm back from the Mint Condition concert in Richmond. It was an AWESOME concert. The concert was well worth every penny that I spent to get there. I had the opportunity to bump into Stokley in the hotel lobby as I was on my way to purchase some water. All I can say is...He's beautiful. And very kind. Girls, I forgot everything. My camera, I left with my son who was holding our spot in line, my CD which was on my nightstand at home. My name...All I could remember to tell him was that I traveled from CT to see the Band. Later on at the concert...I was on the front row...right in front of Stokely. The lady sitting beside me was just as excited as I was..maybe even more. I felt like a teenager. The band tore it up. They gave 110%. Stokely SANG, Jeffrey played the sax. ODell's guitar playin' was out of this world. Each and every member of this group embodies true god given talent. They had me mesmorized from the second they stepped on stage to the point where I had to relax after the concert for about 10 min. before I left. I held Stokely's, ODell's and Ricky's hand. Jeffrey gave me his towel (I sound like a groupie). This will be a birthday that I will never forget!!! Thank you Mint!!!

What's going on Mint! It's great to have you guys back on the scene, although you NEVER left in my mind, bcuz your albums are always in rotation at my home/job. My children even love your music and they are 6yrs and 9yrs old! Your show last night in Charleston was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!However, I do apologize for the lack of support from the citizens of this town. But those of us who was there, know how AUTHENTIC your music is (both instrumentally and vocally)! I thank you guys for that performance and although you may not be what society considers to be a "Platinum" artist, you will always be NUMBER ONE in my eyes. May GOD continue to bless you and don't ever stop!

I appreciate your incredible talents, your ageless music, and your magnetic energy! The person that I brought to the show with me had never seen you live and didn't really know a lot about the band and the level of passion you all display through your music. Needless to say, this person went to the record store and purchased a couple of your CDs the next day. Someone had their soul touched that night. That's what your music does to people. It reaches into the depths of the heart and makes folks feel something. That's what I love about Mint Condition.

I have been looking on the internet to see when is the next show. He already had his copy of the Luxury Brown cd, but he bought me my own copy ( which I did get autographed by the band) we listen to it so much that our kids 12, 5, and 2 listen to it as well, and the dvd my 2 year old daughter cries when we try to turn it off. Believe me we are taking the kids with us to the next show. Keep on giving us that good music. It was worth the wait.
